From College to School: Sharing Insights on Leadership for Teachers in Challenging Times
Abstract
The contemporary educational landscape faces numerous problems, including rapid technological advancements, continually shifting curricula, social change, and growing student diversity. During these arduous times, robust leadership is important for educators. This is particularly crucial during difficult periods, when educators may encounter heightened stress, ambiguity, and demands on their time and proficiency. These are the reasons why it is imperative to deliver training to disseminate knowledge regarding leadership during these hard times. A group of lecturers was established to conduct training in August 2024 for educators at Cikal Cendekia Islamic Full Day School in Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java. The selection of partners and participants was informed by an assessment of the participants' needs. The outcomes of this activity demonstrate that community service initiatives focused on leadership have yielded substantial advantages for educators, encompassing educational, objective, accountable, and transparent dimensions. This assessment may serve as a foundation for future enhancements, encompassing modifications to materials, delivery techniques, and more efficient activity management strategies, including offering leadership training to children and their parents from diverse generational backgrounds.
